THE falling Aussie will bestow the local sharemarket with a free hit to the tune of 5 per cent if the currency settles around US95c and 9 per cent if it drops to US90c, according to a fresh analysis from Deutsche equities strategist Tim Baker.
The Aussie battler this morning was teetering around US96c, having tested US95.97c.
In the case of individual stocks the potential benefit is much more substantive: up to 2224 per cent in the case of nickel producer Western Areas (WSA) and 369 per cent for coal straggler Whitehaven Coal (WHC).
