We'll we are at a new record low on the NASDAQ. The equivalent of 36 Aussie cents pre Nasdaq move.

The last time we were this low was October 2008, in the depths of the GFC, and our management team had just managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory with the GSK settlement debacle.

One year later, October 2009, biota were trading at 10 times this amount at over $3.

    what happened?
Firstly, relenza was considered dead, but then came big relenza stockpile orders (notably UK), question marks over Tamiflu and governments looking to avert this risk with relenza purchases.

This got us from 30 odd cents to 90 odd cents.

Then swine flu sparked global panic, this got us to $1.50

Then we heard that there was not enough relenza available and capacity had to be increased. The prospect of more relenza royalties and a normalised relationship with GSK got us over $3.

of course, the only thing normalised about the relationship with GSK was that they would screw Biota, and the lack of any effort to market and sell relenza, would continue with our management turning a blind eye. GSK clearly just wanted to sell vaccines, and our esteemed management were played once again, and the share price decline commenced.

But external factors did save the day for Biota for a short time, and that is why there still is some hope.

I am still astounded that the appropriate risk assessment was not done, We moved to the USA because of a contract, which was subsequently terminated. if this was a possibility then why on earth did we up ship. and not only did we up ship, but Biota headquarters are based in the home town of the new CEO. Alphetta, nowhere, USA - why does biota always seem to base its decisions about what works for the head of the company? Maybe something to do with our very very quiet board.

On the plus side, the new management team appear to be more commercially savvy then the old management team, which is not hard.

here's hoping for surprise news, maybe a big stockpile order to replicate the rise out of the 2008 quagmire.
