i cant say interest rates and high prices go hand in hand...look at the usa right now...bugger all interest rates and they are giving houses away..

i was around when rates were @17% but was lucky we already owned our property....quite a few friends gave away their properties just to get out of some debt...

mind you the houses were under $70k or so in those days...a good wage up here was around $20k yr....

i feel its a far worse senario now with regards to housing....the dollar value of the debt is so high its scary.

small movements in rates nowdays have a totally different affect on the household budget in my opinion.

im begging for prices to slide way more yet!
