The fact that the diamonds at Lulo are present in in the kimberlites is enough evidence that the conditions were just right for the at depth diamond formation and preservation stage.
The question at hand is simple, but difficult to confirm, ie,
Did the conditions in the diamond stability zone at depth allow for extensive diamond formation?
My view is this, due to the fact we have so far multiple diamondiferous kimberlites, kilometers apart, indicates to me a zone of stabitilty at depth which IS in fact quite extensive.
At the same time we have a fault controlled river traversing the Lucapa craton at Lulo , that fault also contributing to the multiple fertile kimberlite emplacement, the craton being a stable zone in the crust ensuring the kimberlites are not erased from detection.
Now consider that these kimberlites are weathered to a degree, down to their diatreme zone( read productive zone), they were also preserved with overburden , limiting the amount of diamonds being washed into any rivers and so to downstream concessions, meaning ( to myself ) that most of Lulo's diamonds are still within the kimberlites.
So taking the above info( mostly from company published literature) , my supposition is this;

The Lulo concession will contain many diamondiferous kimberlites, mostly uneconomic to mine individually, but all contributing to a major alluvial field which will be profitable enough , once developed, to fund itself, pay a modest dividend, and fund exploration and eventually kimberlite mine development.

Now from an economic kimberlite perspective, I believe there are zones within the diamond stabitilty zone which are more fertile than others, some will be extrordinary, others OK, but several if not more will be economic, this is slowly being evidenced with the alluvial recoveries, but which kimberlite is the mother lode?
Hence the SP volatility, it could be 259, 46,13,15, or one completely left field such as 259 has just shown it could be any minute, any month.
Whatever straegy anybody employs here good luck , to each their own and so be it.
