Mrat - Certain acreage over and adjacent to lakes is highly prospective, particularly when associated with rift basins. Check out the former HDR acreage (now operated by Tullow) in, over and adjacent to Lake Albert, Uganda. Every drill's come up trumps just prior to and since the Tullow takeover... at the time all the downrampers and naysayers spread their own unique brand of dross and drivel on stock forums and sold down. Meanwhile the professionals, Tullow and other major players, saw the value and potential in Lake Albert and stealthily and swiftly moved in - I'll have those shares thankyou very much...

The stunning 100% results from Uganda now speak for themselves. The finds are in the 100s of millions bbls plus and are not in the wilds of the north sea or the gulf of mexico, for example.

As for drilling from barges no problem and relatively cheap. Also directional drilling from the lake shores can prove very efffective. Again both Tullow and Heritage endorse this style. The depths you talk about are commonplace these days. The price of oil only helps improve the economics, risk/return ratio and the NPV/IRR of projects as well as the ultimate bankability.

Check out www.tullowoil.com for more info.

PS - It's no coincidence that ex-HDR man Scott Spencer can see the potential here.

PPS - Get ready for the next scaremongering tactics about the perils of sovereign risk now that the 'lakes, barges and depth' furphy has been put to rest ;)
