Blooms, That article again shows these authors inapt research in to these stories. . Adam Morton – ‘Environmental editor of the Age’ , some of these environmental guys just throw down what they want to hear and make themselves believe in their own minds that ‘everything is ok now’.

Do little to Create Jobs??? Well it sure as hell will cover the unemployment that would have occurred if the brown coal plants had to shut down.

Has the Author of these article -Adam Morton actually done any research into BCE??? Is he aware that brown coal can’t be moved , shipped in its current state?? He states that -

“an analysis has found higher processing and transport costs would mean a local export industry would struggle to compete with places such as Indonesia, which has better quality brown coal and is closer to buyers in India”

Yes, it will cost more to process as it does go from brown coal to BCE and as it has never been shipped before it will cost more to export....BUT – the BCE product derived from it will cost significantly less FOB than the black coal currently being shipped out of queensland..... The BCE produced from LV brown coal will also be considerable more efficient than bog standard brown coal thats dug out of the ground anywhere IMO.

He also states - ''Even if our coal could be processed cheaply, we are at a major disadvantage compared to producers closer to Pacific buyers, such as Queensland, Indonesia or Mongolia......... isn’t the bulk of coal exported out of Queensland black. Isn’t the cost of FOB of black coal out of Queensland significantly larger than the BCE FOB cost out of Victoria , even considering ECT used a greatly inflated cost of $40 per tonne!

He does make a good point that countries like Indonesia do have a higher grade of Brown coal than Victorian coal. It all needs to be moved somewhere.....Coldry is in the box seat in regard that it’s not purly focused on Australian export. These countries do require BCE production plants if they are looking to move their own resources around, thats the magic of ECT as movement of Coldry plants into these countries is probably their main focus at the end of the day.

A coldry plant in a foreign country will of course produce BCE considerably cheaper than importation from Australia, obviously taking into consideration the final destination of the BCE.

Coldry is a double edge sword - it has great benefits both home and abroad!
