For the month of June, Google captured 47 percent of all search queries to hold on to its No. 1 position in the market, according to Nielsen/NetRatings. Yahoo was a distant second with 22 percent, followed by MSN, 12 percent; AOL, 5 percent; and My Way Search, 2 percent.

That fact that My Way, a search aggregator that displays results from Google, Yahoo, Ask Jeeves and LookSmart, came in ahead of Ask Jeeves in June was interesting, but no conclusions could be drawn, Cassar said.

"AdWords advertising on Google's own sites, including the main search page, local search, and maps, grew faster than off-site advertising on the Google AdSense network, although the two revenue streams are still divided fairly equally. Revenue from the Google-owned sites totaled $737 million, representing 53 percent of total revenues, and a 115 percent year-over-year increase. Google's network generated $630 million--46 percent of total revenues--representing an 82 percent year-over-year increase in the network's revenues in the second quarter."

    From above:

< Google's network generated $630 million--46 percent of total revenues--representing an 82 percent year-over-year increase in the network's revenues in the second quarter." >

The figure of $380M has been talked of, as being revenue 'payour' by GOOG for Adsense partners, from within Q1

    Calculated @ say 80% it's $500M ... ??? (for Q2 ??)

On that, Adsense from GOOG will be paying out an approx. 32% MORE, to their many partners (including LOOK) than they did, the very last quarter. (Q1).

It has been posted (here and elsewhere) that with say, ContextWeb, their product is far better, (resultwise), than even Adsense has proven to be.

So, with over 10 Million highly sought after articles to eventually 'contextualised', where do you think LOOK will be, by Q3 or, Q4 ??

Remember also, Google & Yahoo are NOW the (unofficial) enemy of the 'print' media and will SUFFER accordingly!!

    :)
