Harlee as far as flows are concerned a volcanic lava flow would be controlled by topography, and hence can flow any which way depending on the landform.
If we are talking about intrusive magmas that formed underground the flows would typically be controlled by faulting, jointing and areas of geological weakness etc which provide paths of least resistance and can be forced apart allowing more magma to enter.
I think the alaskite alley zone at a guess without further research is a area formed during orogeny and would not really have flowed as such (well not like lava anyway). The rock alaskite is a type of granite which judging by grain size is formed intrusively (underground). There are massive zones of migmatite (a rock that was formed by partial melting) also in the area telling us this area was massively metamorphosed during a tectonic event, ie the collision event that Tibbs talked about.
The alaskites however coule be mantle derived and if that is the case the flows would have been upwelling and emplaced from the mantle. These are just quick interp though, further research on the geology and studies of the area would give us a better indication of the origin of the alaskite zone, how mineralisation occured and areas that could host potential mineralisation.
