For my own benefit I generated the following numbers about the POH/Mylan claim.I thought others might also be interested in the results:
*The Cubicin[daptomycin ] 2014 global sales were $1046M with 93.4% of such sales generated in the US.
*The US sales of daptomycin in 2016 was $1.2B.[IMS]
*The POH stated maximum claim against Mylan was said to be $300M.
Given the ongoing nature of the POH claim[in full force and effect] and using an estimated 5 year time frame[2012-2017]a total daptomycin sales figure for that period can be estimated at least at $5B.
*Assumimg that $1B means a thousand million dollars then a POH $300M claim represents a value of 6% [$300M of $5000M] of 5 years value of US daptomycin sales.Similarly a $50M claim would represent only a 1% valuation
Obviously the POH claim is more complicated than these basic numbers reveal. Regardless I thought the exercise was worth a try.
