    Sele Raya says it wants to produce 3,200 barrels of crude oil per day in the first quarter of 2013, by boosting its production fields from three to nine at the Merangin Dua Block in South Sumatra.

    The local oil and gas firm’s president director, Juchiro Tampi, said on Wednesday that the block was currently producing around 2,200 barrels of oil per day from its three producing fields.

    “We actually have nine oil fields in the block. We are planning for all of the fields to enter the production phase by the first quarter of 2013 in a bid to boost the block’s oil output to 3,200 barrels per day next year,” he told reporters in Jakarta.

    Peak production at Merangin Dua once its nine oil fields enter production will be at around 4,200 barrels of crude oil per day, Juchiro said.

    Sele Raya’s has invested US$100 million in Merangin Dua since the firm started to develo the block in 2003, he said.
