i see no reason why premier barnett would grant extension to crosslands given what a dogs breakfast they've made of things so far. the bid from mitsubishi is a last-ditched effort to demonstrate some sort of ownership and stewardship of a project which lost its way 9 months ago. it is a dummy bid that it does not intend to proceed with, and a somewhat transparent attempt to ramp the market - but we're no strangers to that at murchison.
