It's annoying that those who pay our correct amount of tax fund the purse while those using 'tax minimisation' strategies including cash payments leave the purse far emptier than it ought to be. Can't believe the amount of tradies, builders, concreters etc that I know alone that seem to work on about 50-75% cash money. This together with the wives I know that work 'ghost jobs' for their professional partners. All ripping the system off. Not only are they not paying tax and GST they are also receiving more family benefits than they should because of their so called 'reduced income'. Very unfair and I really feel like dobbing some in to the ATO. If this is so widespread in my town alone it must be rife across the whole of Australia. Something needs to be done to catch all these tax cheats!!
