So, on the Myanmar election date. So far, the election commission and government are insisting that they will go ahead with 8 November elections. However, it remains very possible that coronavirus situation will make that difficult - it all depends if transmission continues to increase over the next 2-3 weeks, or if it drops as a result of the lockdowns.

What does this mean for MYL? An election delay of a couple of months could actually be seen as a good thing - more time to get the approvals needed to submit MIC application, and to get that approved. Whereas if there is no election delay, that takes some political uncertainty away, which is always a good thing in general.

IMO, don't sweat it. The election may delay the MIC approval by a couple of months, but it won't necessarily delay the application to MIC, which will be announced and will boost confidence that things are moving forward.

Also, the new government doesn't take office until end-March 2021, so there's still plenty of time after the elections to get the paperwork sorted, regardless of the result (although no one in Myanmar things the result is very much in doubt).

    AIMO, DYOR etc
