    You make some very interesting points. The general concenus was that AVX terminated the trial to conserve cash. But your suggestion that Tibotec had something to do with it does have merit. It would make sense for Tibotec to go to AVX and say 'lets look at the Trial results and if they are positive, we'll fund future development'
