Months ago, I posted that shipments from Rocklands could go West as well as East and that has now come about with the ore delivered to Ernest Henry to be smelted at Mt Isa.
Shadowboxer is of the opinion that CuDeco was under no pressure in securing a deal with Glencore . This may lead to a longer term cooperative arrangement between the two companies which have a common boundary. It makes sense that they cooperate if Glencore decides to mine adjacent to Rocklands.
.
Hoots has postulated on a 1 million tonne delivery to Ernest Henry. CuDeco has the capacity ,with its underutilised plant, to meet a demand of this order. Should such an arrangement materialise [ a strong possibility in my view ] , the question then arises as to the time frame for delivery, processing, smelting and payments . The unknown copper percentage will be a factor. in total payment.
Originally a 3 million tonne per annum operation, Rocklands is expanding becoming much more than that with shipments to Ernest Henry and direct shipping sales key factors. Shipments are additional to CuDeco's own requirements for its 3 million tonne processing plant.
Listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange has been one of Wayne McCrae's ambitions and this looks like being accomplished.
Another one of Wayne McCrae's long held ambitions is to value add with the production of copper wire and copper tubing. I look forward to that also being achieved.
