to get tax rebate the had to be “scrapped”. Someone posted a pic recently in front of one. So not sure if that was an historical pic or if they still “exist” (ie with holes etc to preclude them from being used again).
why didn’t they do virtual stuff back then? They did but physical testing is required to verify models - hopefully ceto5 succeeded in validating the modelling if nothing else (which maybe more worthwhile than the 12mwh) with regard to machine learning - They didn't have Nvidia graphics cards with “machine learning” back then. I suspect that they got some new workstations with rtx or quadro GpU’s recently which can run the modeling software better. They aren’t lying about machine learning if this is the scenario... machine learning is all the rage atm (cars, ai, gaming etc) so for a wave company to use machine learning is really just a gimmick term but that’s not to say that the research with machine learning doesn’t work.
