Mr Atkinson�fs experience has included advising ministers regarding coal policies and gas and energy requirements. He is currently a non�]executive Director of Anglo Pacific Group PLC and is qualified as a Cost and Management Accountant."

The last sentence says it all I feel ... Anglo have exited as a signficant shareholder ... so he kinda has to resign.

Maybe one of our British shareholders can through light on whether Anglo themselves are somewhat distressed and needed to exit?
