The difference is Jesus died for your sins, so no matter how sinful if you say "sorry" you are absolved.
Islam on the other hand states the only way of absolving yourself of sin is by killing kuffirs and dying for Allah. Which is why in such a homocentric system as Islam there are so many young men willing to die.
