wouldn't BHP buy through placement or at least directly with the company. the only reason to buy on market would be a hostile takeover and i think that is unlikely.

I suspect there is alot of money leaving the spec end miners at the moment. even the golden child Cobalt is not raising eye brows anymore. Zinc holdings are taking a smashing specifically. Its a complete lul period and as commodities in general are not the market darling. Great time to accummulate as it doesn't change whats in the ground and everything is cyclical. The last time the minerals sector was so boring we had a GFC so hold tight and see what happens.
