PRU forecasts a 8 million ounce gold resource in Ghana - a gold mining centre.
The large gold miners are finding it difficult to increase their resource base and a deposit of this size at around $US50/ounce would have a value of $US400 million. If the ounces can be converted to reserves the value is around $100 /ounce. With the open cut shells proposed I think PRU could get 80% reporting to reserve thus a $US640 million value. Great value if an offer pitched around the current market cap.
Certainly would be on the radar of some gold miners.
