I'm on your side, but I think you've dismissed Oliver too lightly. Sweeping generalisations and personal attacks only make me feel that it's "round one" to him, no matter how biased he may be.

Likewise, arguing that Oliver will be wrong over time doesn't help the goldbug cause much if the time is years away. Right now, the USA housing and share markets are showing promise, and no-one I know of has argued convincingly that it's unsustainable in the short to medium term. In fact, quite the opposite, and I find that a little confronting. So if you or anyone else can provide evidence to the contrary, I'd like to hear it.
