I'd be happy to be shown that quantitative easing works all day every day, but there's a widely held view that it's increasingly "pushing on a string". Whatever the truth is, I'm encouraged by knowing that Bernanke is giving congress timely warning to ease fiscal constraints, because that could give fresh impetus to the gold price.
