I think that's a big reason why a few people get rich.
The stock market is just another smaller piece of a bigger picture - like the old saying goes...
"If you took all the money in the world and distributed it evenly, in X number of years the majority of it would be back in the hands of the people who had it before it was distributed".
Why? Because there are only a few smart people, and lots of not very smart people.
