Im about to head off to work so only have a few minutes to write this...

From the error your reporting there are quite a few reasons that could be causing this, one of which could be that someone is using your email address from another location.

If you want to find out definitively whether someone is forwarding emails using your email address then you need to open up and look at the headers of the email as it shows both the senders and the receivers IP address.

Although its quite easy to download a program to give a fake ip address they would have to know your specific ip address to be able to get the program to display this in the headers.( which they could get by hacking directly into your computer but 99% of the time they arent really interested in doing this as most of the time people using your email address are only after an email address to send with not with hacking into your computer and going to the trouble of finding your ip address )

If you have ADSL broadband then your ip address generally changes every time you disconnect or after X amount of days ( Some ISP's force disconnect your modem... which then auto reconnects within 20 seconds... to keep a different ip for security purposes after certain periods )

If you have cable broadband then you will have what's called a static ip address which wont change...

Best bet is to call Bigpond who will do one of the following :

1. Get you to open up the email and check the headers whilst on the phone with you and confirm

2. Show you over the phone or via an email how to obtain the headers and send them into their email tech support dept.

3. Tell you they have some issues with one of their email servers and its a known issue and not to worry about it and give you a timeframe for fix

4. Depending on the email program you are using ( either standard program like outlook etc or web based email program ) they may look for some problem with the email program itself ... they may get you to recreate the mail account in outlook as an example which can cause these type of errors.
Or for the web based email it could be they may have to recreate your account back at their end
