October is shoulder season in North America. Which means you don't need much heating or air conditioning.
It is also the last month of the year for funds.
That combination has caused many hedge funds in the U.S. to sell out of Canadian energy stocks and they take the U stocks with it.
Hopefully we are near the bottom and we should see things improve if not now, then by the beginning of November when it gets cold in Northern U.S. and Canada, plus the earnings reports are out for the energy stocks which should be great.
