I don't know why it is so quiet...

...out there in the big wide world, things are happening.

For example:

1/ Los Angeles have just in the last few days announced a ban on free plastic bags.

"LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles became the biggest city in the country to ban free plastic bags in grocery stores following a city council vote Tuesday.

The 9-1 vote supports a ban that will take effect Jan. 1 for large stores, City News Service reported. Under the law, shoppers will have to tote their own bags, or pay 10 cents each for paper bags.

About $2 million a year is spent to clean up plastic bag litter in Los Angeles. Sanitation authorities estimate more than 228,000 bags are distributed in the city every hour.

The city plans to hand out 1 million reusable bags in low-income areas.

The ban would apply to stores that sell perishable foods, such as convenience stores, supermarkets and large retailers, like Wal-Mart. Stores face fines of up to $500 for defying the ban and handing out single-use bags.

Small stores have until June 2014 to begin enforcing.

Presumably one time use biodegradeable plastic bags would be exempt

2/ Brazil has the Olympics and Football World Cup coming up. They are notorious for deforestation of the Amazon. "The Environment" is surely going to be a hot topic over there and so recyclable bags should figure there, if anywhere. Combine this with the fact that Cardia singled out Brazil as the big potential growth market for their products and the fact that there is supposedly an active Cardia representative over there and one would expect some solid traction and announcements in relation to Brazilian opportunities 'real soon now'.

3/ China is surely moving ahead in terms of the biohybrid waste trials, first contract and more provincial opportunities...

Earth to Cardia - expecting concrete revenue announcements in this exponentially growing space...'real soon now'...no more of my hard earned will be thrown at CNN till we get serious runs on the board.
