bbloff, tks for putting GDY on my radar. My personal philosophy in investing is: "Don't speculate from wages, speculate from profits" i.e. I take solid stocks with high returns on equity, low debt, time them with each significant "pull back". Once they rise, I sell a portion of them, then I take that portion & whack it at the lower end of the spectrum i.e. into well researched speculative stocks. I'm sharing this with you because I too have been burnt badly during 2008 where I learnt valuable lessons. I can feel your pain, which is why i'm sharing one of my personal strategies with you. I am no expert, but rather an empathetic investor (if such a thing exists?).
