The ''lawless one'' will prove to be the clergy of Christendom, that give Christianity a bad name. Many follow them instead of what the Scriptures teach. This can be traced back to when the ''apostasy'' began following the death of the last of the apostles.
You are spot on this time, MrG. The clergy of Christendom gives Christianity a bad name. Watchtower advocates doctrine which is the opposite of what Christ taught and the examples that he set. Examples are:
Shunning people for disagreeing with doctrine that contradicts the teaching of Christ.
Allowing young people to die for want of life saving blood transfusions.
Discouraging the youth from attending tertiary education.
Discouraging social interactions among young people at Christmas and at birthdays.
All this based on weird interpretations of scripture.
