Low gold price not good for sentiment but yes, helps mitigate the hedge. So what if gold falls below $700 shouldnt worry ALD too much although people not falling over themselves to buy gold stocks right now.
Weakness could entice offers. What about Lihir? Could be a good fit for them. Scrip bid would be good at current lihir price. This is all wishful thinking, trying to find a positive.
Lets hope that costs have improved on last quarter.
Should get an announcement in the morning following the high powered board meeting today (Thursday).
