Have been doing some reading about the sandfire discoveries made back in 2009 and see that sfr had an XRF analyser Niton model XL3T back then. Refer to ann 14/7/09. It says there that the accuracy can vary according to associated elements, and that it was therefor calibrating the "gun" using mineralisation for which accurate assay values were known before considering possible reporting of field XRF assay results. I don't know what happened after that.
Anyway, they make very interesting reading, these 2009 reports of sfr. They show that at or near surface was oxide gold, perhaps coming from a residual leached capping of a deeper au/cu sulphide system. The 18/5 ann stated that RC drilling had hit significant high grade cu/au mineralisation within and beneath the oxide gold zone - cu/au/ag/zn and palladium.
Does anyone see any favourable comparisons between this area of sfr and rni's 17-hole area?
