I should add that with the example i used, even if I didn't act as the "insider" I would also be in trouble. What normally happens is I tell a mate or family member to buy or sell shares because of having inside information and they stand to benefit financially by eating on my advice. I may indirectly get a benefit (kick back) but let's just say I was just a good guy (derived no financial benefit) and just wanted to help them, I would still be in strife. The punishment may not be as severe but insider trading is counter to the operations of efficient markets and has legal consequences. There are many ways in can play out. But I maintain, it's debatable if those photos posted on twitter were material because it's hard to work out the benefit or otherwise of the photos on the company's sp. It's not clear cut! If nothing else they just support material already published - Manono is a massive resource.
