Yes there are many many examples of firms offloading assets, it happens almost every day. Firms quite often keep a stake in the outgong assets through a share issue. All this is very normal.

Questions however need to be asked when it is done to an empty shell. What kind of crazy person would sell something on credit to someone with no assets and no creditworthiness? If LEG came to you and said, look give me your house, I dont have any money or any credibility but I'll raise it in a public float - what would you say?

It seems to me you would have to have some sort of big ace in the hole to make the very large risk of giving away your house to an insolvent person worthwhile - you could easily end up with nothing. And, apart from all the gratuitous ramping, that is the reason I am very suspicious here.
