Yes they don’t employ on merit that could be the problem, you can see this by looking at number of aboriginals employed recently but also number of gay journalists or those from other countries.
There has been a huge change in the makeup of abc staff over the last ten years, many people I know think the abc has worsened substantially over the last ten years.
One could draw the conclusion that maybe not employing the best people for the job results in a poorer outcomes
If the abc viewership drops because people are switching off it due to its falling standards it will lost likely lose funding meaning it has to then put those staff they employed due to inclusion back off again, in the mean time the abc slowly kills itself
