You have to have something that the Govt also believes is commercial otherwise they will not grant it and that would be a black eye for Cottee. Cottee is pretty smart so I think if he made the application it is because he already consulted with the Govt.
I was interested to here the rumors of Santos buying the oil from us. I was aware that Santos had all this Amadeus ground before and dropped it about 7 years ago when they also dropped a large parcel of ground in the western Cooper Basin which others picked up and found many oilfields!
So just thought wouldn't Santos be kind of feeling silly to drop all this Amadeus ground only to have to go back to the new owner to try and do a deal with them.
