something really stinks here

The largest single holding on 31/8/06 according to the CMQ annual report of 20 largest holdings was 14mil shares.

Suddenly today there is an announcement that the Melrose holding of 26 mill shares was sold on Monday the 18th.

If it is correct that the whole 26 million holding was sold on Monday, there must have been buyers organised for it or the shareprice would have plummeted. I wonder if we will soon see a new party entering as a substantial holder, or if the holding was sold off to a number of different parties each who have less than a substantial holding.

Looks like Primebroker lost a lot of money on this one, and Melrose will have got nothing out of his company except his salary and underwriting fees etc.
