It's hedge funds selling everything in sight including gold to reverse the carry trade imo. Margin calls all over the world. Currency drop makes it a double hit for them.
It's ironic that when the AUD plunges the fundamentals for our goldies and other commodity producers rise dramatically.
The carry trade reversal will come to an end (and I wish someone could tell me when), after which they'll all want to switch to natural resources again.
The whole world has become a hedge fund and investment bank casino imo.
