s/parrot, the americans are financially and morally bankrupt. they have the gov. backed PPF (plunge protection fund) to back the share markets and none of the gold trading is backed by metallic gold. if people asked for the delivery of physical Au the whole market (Au) would collapse. so once again the americans and other major market dealers are living a lie. i don't know the answer to this, BUT one day there will be a reckoning.
this is all to protect a paper $ of which many tons have been printed - visions of 30's germany and current day zimbabwe come to mind. as the chinese would say - with a wry smile - we live in interesting times
