$h1t you not, this year my Christmas gift from the company was a promotional hat...of the company...that a month ago if I had asked for a hat as part of sun smart PPE, they would have sent this one. Last year it was a company branded lunch box cooler (the cheap give away at trade show type).
I guess it is lucky I didn't ask for a hat for the sun. They would have nothing to give me at Christmas.
I'm a site based embedded contractor for a large O&G client, so I am not moaning my lot in life. It just smacked of 'what tosh do we have lying around that we can send to the guys at site' feel about it. I would have been happier with a 'thanks for all your hard work during the year' mass Christmas greetings email. I would have been even happier with a 'here's a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue as a token of our appreciation'.
Oh well I am off shift in a couple of days so that will have to do.
