I don't usually short HDR either, but I had a few times recently to "cover" shareholdings (rather than sell them at a loss) ... particularly ahead of WPL's Half Yearly (which I feared may have had the downgrade news).

But Tuesday's short opportunity was simply a "gift" when the announcement came out without a pre-open...an absolute no-brainer to fall 20-30 cents before setting and rebounding later in the week .. and that's how it transpired.

I won't be shorting it nxt week! Rather I have taken a CFD position with a GSO (paid for by some of this week's profit).

Good luck all .. next week is shaping up to be as big as any we have seen for quite a while.
