Dreaming. According to APRA, 9% of home loan customers were on a deferral as at July 31. Of those 9%, 1 in 5 were said to be in strife so approx 2% of total home loan customers. Most major backs have offered anywhere between 6-12 months of loan deferrals so up until now, not one home loan customer will have had their property foreclosed on by a bank. As long as Victoria doesn’t have a 3rd wave, by the end of October most of the national economy will be back up and running with the exception of the tourism industry and related industries such as aviation. Housing market is going to be just fine and banks are in a very solid position.
