but then says
Matthew 5:43-44 New International Version (NIV)
⁴³ “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor^[a] and hate your enemy.’ ⁴⁴ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

So what is it to be?: love or a sword.

I say

Jesus said that "he" jesus was bringing a sword,

he never said for any of his followers to pick up a sword

THERE IS NO CONTRADICTION
