Well I honestly don't think that the opposition have been got at, or that they are stupid, instead I think they are just representing the views of the voters who voted for them.

In the last 60 years there have been very few deaths due to nuclear power activities but despite this it is still often the case that the public are wary of it, much more so than oil. Nuclear scares them because it conjures up memories of Chernoybl children with deformities.

Humans are irrational like that- the population at large is scared stiff of terrorism yet the odds of it actually happening them are so remote to make it negligible. Fact of the matter is that humans are often irrational when it comes to assessing risks and there is always going to be a bunch of politicians not too far away who will represent their irrationality by being irrational themselves.

Luckily for holders here those politicians do not hold the balance of power on this issue.
