Why not start by looking at the financial reports of CNP. You will see that the listed entity CNP has only about $8b in assets as at the last financial report.
They have a number of the order of $24b in assets under management. They do not own all of those assets by any means. Its wonderful marketing stuff but not reality when it comes to drawing up accounts.
The market value of those assets may now be worth less than the $8b in their books.
