Kischa,I am not Jgunter but purely looking at the volumes today,my view is very few of those shorts were covered today.
There was obvious short covering on open today but that was less than half a million shares. Also today in the last 30min, there were some short covering but probably less than 5 million shares.
One must also remember that massive short positions were built up in the last two/three weeks when daily volumes hit 50millions shares. These short position,I do not believe on much lighter in the last 5 sessions(4 of which were up), would have been covered.
However another 20-30cts north of here, the short margin would start to squeeze and painful decisions would need to be made....
