Keep a eye on what is happening with takeover of Macarthur coal 50.01% by ArcelorMittal(the worlds largest steelmaker )and Peabody(US coal miner)
I think its ArcelorMittal first play in Australia.
Real interesting chap Laksmi Mittal(ownes 40% of ArcelorMittal),mention his name and no one has really heard of him (they say he is the richest person in UK)
A book has been written of his takeover of Arcelor in 2006,europes largest steel company(controled by governments and varies corporate bodies)
The Luxemborg based Arcelor could not believe that this Indian serving the low end of steel industry had the gall to attempt a takeover.It succeeded and the two join forces to become ArcelorMittal.
The book is called COLD STEEL by tim bouquet and byron ousey(I found it at my local libary)a great read.
If he succeeds with MCC takeover,no reason why he wouldnt be on lookout for ironore companies.
