It's worth mentioning that the depreciation is affecting early adopters of EVs, and is primarily due downward pressure on prices of new EVs rather than shorter product lifespan. That same downward price pressure is massively improving the affordability of EVs, and is another step towards making them mainstream.

In the next 10 years or so we will see price-parity with ICE vehicles, and then likely a cost advantage. The current issues with range, lack of infrastructure, and depreciation are just teething pains. It's like claiming that poor audio quality is the death knell for mobile phones...
