Medical Centres volume are down 30% on average since this week and some centre down as much as 50% as people that need a routine check is simply putting it off or not doing it for fear of contracting the virus.
Medical Rebate is our at $24.40 at 85% of schedule but the reagent costs for this PCR test is substantially more so than routine tests, we're talking many times more.
The blood or serology test for Covid is only useful to manage patient post infection. You will not be able to detect if a patient is positive from blood for atleast 1 weeks as it transmits from fluid to blood. So not really useful for early detection. Swab test via nose / throat PCR test is the Gold standard.
Its going to be brutal for sometime.
