Probably one reason is the same as why so many similar tech startups from America do the same here and in NZ. It's common practice in that country for major corporations to knobble potentially disruptive new tech competitors with an overwhelming avalanche of spurious lawsuits that they simply cannot afford to defend and sink market support before they even get started. Our system of law makes such actions extremely difficult to mount without consequences.
Plus Aus investors are by reputation very supportive of new tech startups.
