US$3.00 lb cu is the starting point and anything under that is
not so good but what goes with the US$3.00 is the exchange rate of US$0.72 .
That part of the equation was achieved last night on Wall St , US$0.7191 .
The OZ Minerals chief Mr Cole believes that the fundamentals of the copper
market are sound and has blamed the ongoing trade discussions with China
and USA has a big bearing on the current downturn some 20% drop in a short
period of time . All minerals have been treated harshly and suffered the same
fate so its across the board . You would expect a bounce back or adjustment
from this situation once they find a reasonable solution . What Rex Minerals
has to focus on is to achieve the goals mentioned in the $5million Capital
Raising and that is to have a good outcome with the Chinese study for capital
costs and de - risking the Hillside Project. That will be a priority to get those costs
right as soon as possible. I suppose the big prize that everyone is waiting for is the
PEPR approval . The entire community at Ardrossan have been consulted and have
had their input into the PEPR process and Rex Minerals have been very professional
and understanding in addressing the farmers concerns. Lets hope USA and China
come to an equitable agreement on trade and the South Australian Government
approve the PEPR so either side can call it a Win Win situation.
