Yes the PE of US stocks is still something like averaging 18 it could easly half that and if in a depression the profits would be half again so maybe 3000 on the DOW
And companies like Ford or GM (one of them is on the DOW I think) will probably disapear or become essentially Public so dont know how that affects the DOW .

ASX looks to have done enough pain though, I am guessing a ralley tomorrow stocks like BHP are over sold IMHO
